A Christian lives each day by staying close to Christ through simple, ordinary practices. This includes reading the Word, praying, walking in honesty, turning away from sin, loving others well, and forgiving quickly. Colossians 2:6-7 encourages us to “continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Growth in faith is often steady rather than dramatic. The Lord shapes us through repeated obedience, and small choices matter. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,” highlighting the importance of how we speak. The way you handle disappointment matters, and your responses when no one is watching matter too.

When you fall short, don’t run away from God. Instead, return quickly, as 1 John 1:9 reassures us: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” There is mercy for those who come back to Him.
